This is Hendron’s Digest, a weblog devoted to the intersection of education & technology.

Keep me organized…

This video is not new, but so many folks I get the opportunity to sit down with have… organizational issues. Icons, folders, documents: they can’t keep up.

Take a look at this video to learn more about organizing things in the OS X Finder.

One Response to “Keep me organized…”

  1. Dave Says:

Organization is sort of a meta-skill that is increasingly necessary as education moves forward. I sometimes wish there was more attention in this area…how many people would benefit greatly from the “Getting Things Done” system but have never heard of it?

I think everyone does enough organizing to get by, but I don’t think most people understand how to organize information in such a way that others can use it.

It’s one of the most common problems I run into when helping teachers use our website tools. They say “yes, I want a place to post assignments, a place for announcements, and a place for events” and I set it up and talk about what kinds of things to post in each category…but when they start posting, they mix up all three types of information in all three places, negating most of the benefit of our website tools. :(
