Affecting Achievement
Jon Becker recently posted about a topic that many of us are concerned about: links between student achievement and instructional technology.
Most valuable are his links to several different sources of research, found online. (Thanks!) But his comment, too, speaks to me as an educator:
But, for me, student achievement, especially as typically measured in these studies, is not even close to the most important outcome we need to be considering when evaluating the impact of technology in education. I’m much more interested in outcomes such as student engagement and student learning (as distinct from student achievement).
