This is Hendron’s Digest, a weblog devoted to the intersection of education & technology.

This week I got to attend a session at the College of William and Mary sponsored by VITAL with Karen Richardson and Chris O’Neal. Attending were some Goochland principals, Henrico administrators, and other folks from Albemarle County, Norwalk, and Richmond-city.
The guest speaker was Jim Moulton. He talked about his own humanist approach to technology. What I found most interesting was his call to focus on project-centered approaches and people instead of all the tech. Yes, having access is important, but the real focus should be on goals for great projects that teach (and of course integrate great technology).
We then spent the second half of our day there making podcasts. I got assigned to “help” others. I was proud of the Goochland efforts.
More people should hear Moulton’s messages, and more administrators should have had the fun opportunity to use Garageband and learn how to edit/record podcasts!
Incidentally, here is my help for GarageBand materials.

Here’s a great tutorial for using Comic Life in the classroom.
Some interesting notes from a presentation on Web typography. Some time I want to go to SXSW.
